Action Alert!
The construction of the Ohio River Bridges Project is closer than ever. The project will increase cross-river mobility for the entire region, enhancing safety and securing the future economic health of the region. The project includes the construction of an east end bridge, a new downtown bridge and the reconstruction of Spaghetti Junction, the interchange connecting I-65, I-64 and I-71 in Louisville.
Indiana's portion of the traditional funding has been secured, and now, one of the final hurdles is the Kentucky General Assembly's approval of Kentucky's share.
The time for action is now! The Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate are now negotiating on the final details to provide the needed state funding for the Bridges Project, and a vote on the state road plan is expected soon.
Contact your state senator by calling 1-800-372-7181 and ask to leave a message for the members of the Kentucky Senate. Ask them to support full funding for the Ohio River Bridges Project and let them know that now is the time to build the Ohio River Bridges Project for safety, mobility and the creation of thousands of jobs throughout the region. Be sure to remind them of the importance of this project not just for the future economic health of Louisville, but of the entire state and region, including our valuable manufacturing industry and all of automotive alley.

An outdated and overcapacity cross-river highway network is holding our community back. Extreme traffic congestion and gridlock cause accidents, injuries and delay. It slows the movement of people and goods, which hurts businesses on both sides of the river and threatens the vital logistics economy and our region’s ability to compete.
The Ohio River Bridges Project is the most important economic development project for this region in our lifetime, and the Bridges Coalition wants so see it built as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. It’s about safety, mobility, job creation and long-term economic development.
